The guestrooms at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place bring a fresh, contemporary perspective to the hotel’s South Loop setting. Thoughtfully designed interiors have an elevated residential feel, with clean architectural lines, a refined neutral palette and warm modern finishes. Subtle references to the surrounding neighborhood add a distinct sense of place, balancing the functionality of a premier convention hotel with a polished, inviting guest experience.

We created guestroom accessories in Smooth Leather Match, including a Double Cube Recycling Bin, Round Ice Bucket, Notepad Holder and Minibar Tray. Custom colors and details, like the gold knob on the Ice Bucket and contrast stitching on the Notepad Holder, connect each piece intimately to the space. The floor of the Minibar Tray features a translation of the Printer’s Row mural found on the accent wall behind the bed, showing how thoughtfully curated accessories can extend the design story in meaningful ways.

The guest bath is clean, modern and quietly expressive, with a neutral vanity and streamlined finishes creating a calm, sophisticated foundation. Confident hits of blue add depth and personality, creating a space with a personality of its own and a fresh, polished and inviting sensibility.

We designed bath accessories, including a Cube Wastebasket, Tissue Box Cover and Hair Dryer Tray, in a custom-colored Smooth Leather Match (PMS 7546). The bold yet sophisticated tone creates a crisp contrast against the neutral vanity while connecting thoughtfully to the blue framing at the bathroom entry, the striking blue tilework of the shower walls and blue accents in the guestroom. Together these pieces introduce confident pops of color, create cohesion within the bath and across the guestroom, and bring a distinct sense of intention to the space.

The Minibar Tray is a showstopper, distinguished by its nuanced color story and a screen-printed floor that echoes the Printer’s Row mural on the accent wall behind the bed. A meaningful nod to Chicago’s local heritage, the mural was an important source of pride for the operating team and a defining element of the room’s sense of place. By carrying that imagery into the minibar, the tray extends the design story in an unexpected way, demonstrating how accessories can add another layer of personality, connection and discovery to the guest experience.

The custom-colored Smooth Leather Match Notepad Holder was designed for effortless cohesion, with a two-tone palette that allows it to live seamlessly in multiple areas of the room and connect wherever it is placed. The green contrast stitching on the interior is one of those tiny touches we live for, revealing itself over time as guests interact with the piece. When guests keep discovering thoughtful touches throughout their stay, appreciation deepens and the experience becomes more memorable.
